f. Entertainment furnished to the king's messengers when riding on the king's business, or to those strangers who were coming to the king :-- Liberabo illud (monasterium) a pastu et refectione illorum hominum quos saxonice nominamus walhfæreld and heora fæsting and ealra angelcynnes monna and ælþeódigra rǽdefæstinge, C. D. ii. 60, 30.
