p. te. I. to dispose, arrange, regulate, direct, rule :--Ic stihte (disposui) gekýþnysse mínum gecorenum, Ps. Lamb. 88, 4. Stapas on his heortan hé stihte ascensiones in corde suo disposuit, 83, 6.
