stǽnan
Add :-- Seó ǽ tǽhte þæt man sceolde ǽlcne wímman þe cild hæfde bútan rihtre ǽwe stǽnan (cf. eam lapidibus obruent viri civitatis, Deut. 22, 21). Nú ðonne gif Maria unbeweddod wǽre and cild hæfde, þonne wolde þæt Iúdéisce folc mid stánum hí oftorfian, Hml. Th. i. 196, 10. stænan
