f. Blandishment, fair speech :-- Swǽsnyssum blandimentis, lenociniis, Hpt. Gl. 481, 10. Gé Godes cempan, gé áwurpaþ eówerne cynehelm for ðám earmlícan swǽsnyssum (the appeals made to your feelings) ðissera heófiendra. Ne áwurpe gé eówerne sige for wífa swǽsnyssum, Homl.
