- adj. I. that conveys reproach, calumny, etc., calumnious, blasphemous :-- Þeáh hwá cweðe tállíc word ongeán mé, him biþ forgifen, Homl. Th. i. 498, 24. Of ðære heortan cumaþ ... tállíce word (blasphemiae), Mt. Kmbl. 15, 19.
