- p. ode To swell with pride or anger :-- Hé ásende his swurdboran, Riggo geháten, gescrýdne mid his cynelícum gyrelum, swilce hé hit sylf wǽre. Ðá gesæt Benedictus forn ongeán ðam Riggon, ðe mid ðam leáslícum getote inn eode ðearle ðrútigende (he entered in a very pompous manner), Homl. Th. ii. 168, 16.
