According to the Old English Dictionary:

tó-sníðan
p. -snáð, pl. -snidon ; pp. -sniden. I. to cut in two, cut in pieces, cut up :-- Hé geteáh his seax and genam his sciccels ðe hé him on hæfde, tósnáð ðá hine on twá, and healfne sealed ðæm þearfan . . . Ðá wǽron ðǽr manige men ðe . . . hine bismrodan, ðæt hé his gegyrelan tó-sníðan sceolde, Blickl. Homl. 215, 5-10. Tósnidenre hreáþemúse blód. Lchdm. ii. 236, 17.
