- p. -stang. pl. -stungon To prick to pieces, break by pricking :-- Genim wulfes swýþre eage and hyt tósting, Lchdm. i. 362, 2. Ðonne ðú ðæt geswel tóstinge oþþe sníþe, ii. 208, 20. [Olde men neddren tostyngeþ (sting them all to pieces, wound severely with their sting), Misc. 152, 177.] Cf. tó-stician. to-stingan
