According to the Old English Dictionary:

un-brýce

adj. (or subst.?) Useless, unprofitable :-- Unbrýce, unbrýce, unbrycci ineommodum, Txts. 69, 1050. Unbriéce incommodum, inutile, Wrt. Voc. ii. 44, 76. Nyle hé ða dærstan him dón unbrýce faex ejus non est exinanita, Ps. Th. 74, 8. [But calleth hym yn the gospel ryche, As unkynde and unbryche, Halliwell's Dict.
