According to the Old English Dictionary:

un-crafod
adj. With no claim made upon one :-- Se ðe sitte uncrafod on his áre on lífe, ðæt nán man on his yrfenuman ne sprece æfter his dæge he that dwells on his property without any claims being made on him in his lifetime, that no man shall bring an action against his heir after his death, L. Eth. iii. 14; Th. i. 298, 9.
