By the queen's Christian conduct, the heathen predilections of the king were removed, and the way made clear for the preaching of Augustine in 597. before that, a report of the Christian religion had come to him. [Æðelbryht] for he had a Christian wife, who was given to him from the royal kin of the Franks, her name was Bertha.
