The plant comfrey; symphytum officĭnāle, Lin :-- Ðeós wyrt, ðe man confirmam, and óðrum naman galluc nemneþ, biþ cenned on mórum and on feldum, and eác on mǽdum this herb, which is called confirma, and by another name comfrey, is produced on moors and in fields, and also in meadows, Herb. 60, 1; Lchdm. i. 162, 10-12.
