to loosen, relax, (1) literal :-- Swá þá gewunedon þá þwangas swylce hí þǽr gemétte wǽron of mycclum dǽle untogone and onleoðode (-liðode, ) ita ut inventae sunt, magna jam ex parte dissolutae corrigiae remanserunt, Gr. D. 222, 4. (2) figurative :-- In hefigum wísum ealle þá (various faults) after deáðe hefigiað, gif hí nǽron ná ǽr gebétte ne ná onleoðode þá hwíle þe se man wæs in þissum lífe quae cuncta etiam post mortem gravant, si adhuc in hac vita positis minime fuerint relaxata, Gr.
