p. -hyrte; pp. -hyrted, -hyrt [hyrtan to hearten, encourage; heorte the heart] To encourage, animate, refresh; confortare, animare, refrigerare :-- Beó ðú húru gehyrt, and hicg þegenlíce be thou only encouraged, and strive nobly, Jos. 1, 18.
