part. p. [pp. of ge-lýfan to believe] One who believed, faithful; religiosus, fidus, fidelis :-- His [Constantínes] módor wæs cristen, Elena geháten, swíðe gelýfed mann, and þearle eáwfæst his [Constantine's] mother was a christian, called Helena, a very faithful person, and very pious, Homl.
