I. add: a particle co-ordinating words, phrases, or clauses, (1) between which there is an alternative, (a) words :-- Feorran oððe neán, Gen. 1047. Ǽr oððe síþ, Cri. 1053. (b) phrases :-- Wís on gewitte oððe on wordcwidum, Crä. 13. (c) clauses :-- Þonne þæt mód ymbe hwæt tweónode, oðþe hit hwæs wilnode tó witanne, Solil. H. 2, 22. Hú mæg ic ládigan láðan sprǽce oððe andsware ǽnige findan ?, Cri. 184. Oðþo, Bd. 1, 27; Sch. 74, 14.
