adj. Substitute (?): elcran; adWið manegum ádlum ꝥ deáh, ðá ðe cumað of oferfyllo and of yflum wǽtum. Gif hié cumen of oferfyllo, mid spiweðan hý mon sceal lytlian. Gif hié þonne cumað of óþrum biterum and yfelum wǽtum, þá þe wyrceað óman, þonne beóþ þá elcran tó stillanne the inflammations are to be reduced by other means (than emetics), Lch. ii. 178, 14. v. elcra; adv. elcra
