m. A fetter, shackle for the feet; pĕdĭca, compes :-- Fótcops compes vel cippus, Wrt. Voc. 86, 31. Hig ge-eádméttan on fótcopsum fét his humiliāvērunt in compĕdĭbus pĕdes ejus, Ps. Lamb. 104, 18. Hine ne mihte nán man mid fótcopsum gehæftan no man could confine him with fetters, Homl. Th. ii. 378, 27: Mk. 5, 4.
