Add: I. to bring down, cast down, degrade, humiliate (1) a person or place occupying an exalted position:--Oft ðis andwearde líf úp áhefeð ðá yfelan, ac se tócyme ðǽre écan eádignesse hié geniðrað, Past. 389, 27.
