m. A gut, an intestine [Tharm = guts washed for making hogs' puddings, is given as a Lincolnshire word in Bailey's Dictionary; with the meaning, 'material of which fiddle-strings are made,' it is given in E. D. S. Pub. Cumberland Glossary; and in Jamieson's Dictionary therm, tharme = the intestines; a gut prepared, especially as a string for a musical instrument] :-- Þearm, thearm intestinum, Txts. 69, 1058.
