ge-fætan
l. -fǽtan, and add: To lay as a burden, impose :-- Tó hwan wyllað wé on ús álecgan and gefǽtan þá byrþene þe wé áræfnan ne magon quid nobis onera vultis imponere, quae non possumus portare?, Gr. D. 165, 27.
